Two ways to earn rewards

The two paths give you different things. Read each one carefully.

Path 1

Refer a Customer

No credit deducted on your first job from a referred customer

This is a waiver, not a credit added to your balance. Your Job Award Credit balance does not change — the credit cost on that single job is simply skipped.

Send your unique referral code to a homeowner.

The customer registers using your referral code.

The credit cost on that one job is waived. Your balance stays the same.

One-shot per referred customer. Once awarded, the waiver is consumed even if the job is later cancelled.

Path 2

Refer a Tradie

+1 Job Award Credit added to your balance

This is a real credit, added to your balance. It rolls over month-to-month and never expires.

Once both conditions are met, +1 credit lands in your balance automatically.

Beta rule: both conditions are required. After we leave beta, only the paid-plan condition applies.

Waiver vs. Credit — what's the difference?

The two paths feel similar but they affect your balance very differently. Read this carefully.

Path 1 — Award Waiver Balance unchanged. Credit cost waived on one specific job.

Path 2 — Credit Grant Balance increases by +1. Roll over, never expires.

A waiver is "this one's on us." A credit grant is "here's another credit you can spend on any future job."

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between an Award Waiver and a Credit Grant?

Award Waiver (Path 1) means a job's credit cost is skipped — your balance does not change. Credit Grant (Path 2) means +1 Job Award Credit is actually added to your balance. Waivers are tied to one specific job; credits can be spent on any future job.

Do referral credits or waivers expire?

Path 1 award waivers stay available until used on the first job awarded by that referred customer. Path 2 credits land in your purchased bucket which never expires and rolls over month-to-month.

Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?

No limit at all. Refer as many customers (Path 1) and tradies (Path 2) as you like — every successful referral earns its respective reward.

What if the tradie I referred cancels their subscription?

If they cancel before completing their first job, your pending Path 2 reward expires. If they've already completed their first job and the credit was granted, the credit is yours — it stays in your balance.

Can a customer refer others?

Currently only tradies can generate referral codes. Customers benefit by being referred — their tradie skips a credit cost on their first job, which means more focus on quality work.

Terms & conditions

BuildersLink reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the referral programme at any time. Referral rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Path 1 (Award Waiver) grants a single waived credit cost per referred customer; once consumed (on the first job they award you), the waiver is not restored even if the job is later cancelled. Path 2 (Credit Grant) adds +1 Job Award Credit to your balance once the snapshotted conditions are met (sign-up + first job during beta; paid-plan subscription post-beta); once granted, the credit is yours and rolls over indefinitely. Abuse (fake accounts, self-referrals) will result in removal from the programme. BuildersLink's decision on all referral disputes is final.
